Does Adding Electrical To My Building Void Warranties?

When it comes to installing electrical in your Heritage Steel building, many customers wonder if doing so could affect their warranties. The short answer is no—adding electrical typically does not void your warranties. However, there are important exceptions to keep in mind. If the installation of electrical components alters or compromises the structural integrity or design of the building—for example, by cutting into framing, drilling through structural members, or modifying engineered components—then the warranties related to those affected areas would be void.

In most cases, running electrical safely through conduit, surface-mounted fixtures, or properly framed openings will not impact your building’s warranty. Heritage Steel’s warranties are designed to protect the structure and materials as long as they remain installed according to the engineering specifications. If you’re unsure whether a planned electrical modification might affect coverage, it’s always best to contact Heritage Steel before installation to confirm that your warranty remains fully intact.
